Vanessa Grace Fagnant, LPCC, MFTC, MTS
I am a wife and mother of three children. I know the struggles of Marriage and Family, but I also know the joys. Not only have I completed a Masters in Marriage and Family Studies (M.T.S.) and Marriage and Family Therapy (M.F.T.) Masters from Regis University, I am also certified in Emotionally Focused Therapy. I am now expanding both my experience to offer Neurofeedback services. I am working under the mentorship of Yvvone Tate at TRS Neurofeedback to become certified in biofeedback.
I integrate the philosophy of “Being as Gift” into experiential theories such as EFT. This philosophy highlights who we are as humans, and shifts the value from what we do to who we are. So often we do not learn this message in today’s society or from our Families of Origin. Sometimes we need help shifting our views and learning to validate and affirm our unique selves. I believe in expanding discussion on both positive and negative experiences (as outlined in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy). I accompany families, couples, and individuals in their journey to discover how accessing CORE emotions can lead to finding hope and joy in whatever life brings.
I enjoy working with couples and families from all backgrounds. I help couples and families resolve conflict by identifying the underlying emotions and cycles or patterns (using EFT). Identifying “the cycle as the problem” helps resolve conflict and move into positive patterns and ways to communicate.
I have over 7 years of experience in youth ministry (large and small group settings). I am comfortable and willing to see families of all ages. I do not work with children separate from their parents, with the exception of using neurofeedback.

Psychological Services
We utilize a Whole-Brain approach through Experiential Theory along with Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) and Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT). These theories first use an empathetic route using right-brain functioning before addressing attachment needs that involve left-brain functioning. The right brain uses emotions while the left brain uses logic. Integrating both produces favorable outcomes.
We are focused on collaboration towards successful mental health treatment. Clinical studies have shown that the combination of both psychotherapy and medication has the best outcomes. We provide referrals for both pharmaceutical and natural medicine options when desired.
Couples Counseling
EFT Couples Therapy
In Couple's therapy sessions, we’ll work to solve current problems and improve positive thinking and behavior. I will help you re-frame your reactions and provide you with valuable tools to cope with life’s obstacles. Family Therapy helps create new bonds and New Pathways to healing the heart. I’m confident you’ll find my personalized Couples Counseling beneficial in reaching your goals.
Play and Family Therapy
Play Therapy and Neurofeedback
Sometimes families can feel disconnected or a child has symptoms or behavioral problems. I offer play therapy and emotional processing with families. I see any age within the context of family therapy. I only see children individually for Neurofeedback sessions. Neurofeedback is used for a variety of symptoms including behavioral issues and ADHD.

Couples Group Process
Connection Map Workshop
The Creating a Lasting Connection Workshop will be offered this fall for couples looking for new communicative ways to connect. The body's movement involved in attachment-based responses has a powerful effect on soothing one's partner. This ties into the Theology of the Body's philosophical basis of "being as gift". How Neurofeedback Works
Neurofeedback has been around since the 1970s, starting with reducing seizures in cats. Research now supports neurofeedback use for a varied of mental stressors like ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, irritability, and more.
Brain Master equipment is used to track brain waves in real-time in which the screen will reward the brain through brightening when the brain is within the range in which it is exercising. Certain brain waves cause different symptoms. For example, too much theta waves cause daydreaming (sometimes ADHD), too much beta can cause anxiety.

All About Family Therapy
Relationships can be hard, puzzling, and defeating at times. My job is to help you understand the parts of your heart that are unseen and unheard so you can communicate that with your loved ones. Connecting and staying connected is a fundamental need of humanity. Helping my clients discover their cycle and how to change it to a postive interaction is what I do.
In both family and individual therapy, I identify patterns of behavior, thoughts, and beliefs that will help bring insight to areas that need some empathy and care. I am Level 1 trained in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) for individuals. Using Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples and families (most empirically based couple's therapy) helps create positive cycles and de-escalate negative ones. I have completed the EFT externship as well. I look forward to helping you and/or your family.
